Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August, 1995 in London, United Kingdom. After working as a fashion model and songwriter, she decided to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album "Dua Lipa" in 2017. The album peaked at the number three spot on the U.K. albums chart and included eight songs, with the most notable being U.K. number one single New Rules and Be the One. I.D.G.A.F. The album, which has since been certified Platinum in various countries around the world, won her the two Brit Awards (in 2018) in the categories of British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough act. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. She is of Bosnian heritage via her mother's grandmother. Her ancestors are also tracked back to Peja, the Kosovo town of Peja. Lipa's grand-fathers were both history professors. Gjin and Rina are her sisters. Lipa was taught to play the guitar and sing with her dad Oda. Oda is the leader singer/guitarist for the Kosovan-rock band Oda. She was influenced by her father's music that included his music compositions and songs such David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was five. At the age of nine she started learning to sing. Lipa sang in the song If I'm Not Gone You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. The year 2014 was the year that Lipa has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released in august 2015.
