BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on February 19, 1970, [1]) is an American actress, producer and singer best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant, in ABC's drama series Scandal (2012)-2018. In 2014, the Critics' Choice TV awarded her the top Supporting Actress award in a Drama Series. In addition, she starred on the Fox show Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young began her professional career as an actor in the theater. Her Broadway debut was in 1997 as Mary the Life. The Life. The Off-Broadway roles include Stephen Sondheim's We Rock Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her television debut as a regular on The NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. [7] She guest-starred in Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, playing two distinct roles. The film's debut came in 1999 , when she appeared as part in the crime thriller Black and White. The actress later appeared in other independent films. At the start of the 2000s, she started appearing as guest-star roles on a number of television comedies and dramas including The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young has had more than 30 appearances in TV shows between 2000 and 2011.
