Sadoski started his stage career in the theatre, working as an understudy for Mark Ruffalo (Mark Rosenthal) in an Off-Broadway production the Second Stage Theatre of Kenneth Lonergan's critically-acclaimed play This is Our Youth. This production marked the beginning of many more for the New York-based theatre group. He has appeared in many Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, and also in numerous productions in regional theaters. Together with Alison Pill, he played the role of Greg in Neil LaBute's 2008 play Reasons to be Pretty at MCC Theatre. The play was highly acclaimed Off-Broadway show which sold to the max. In April of 2009, it moved to Broadway which was the place where it won three Tony Award nominations: Best Actor: Sadoski; Best Actress: Marin Ireland; Best Play as well as three Drama Desk Award nominations: Best actor, Best Director Terry Kinney and Best Actor. [6] Neil LaBute credited Sadoski with the change in tone in Reasons to be Pretty, a departure in comparison to earlier works. He commented: "His thoughtfulness and good heart allowed him to not fall back upon anything that I've done before." My plays often end with a dark tone. He helped me see other shades in the color palette. I thought that was also true in real life. He was the original Trip Wyeth character in Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, for which he won an Obie Award (and a Lucille Lortel Award). The production (which had a sold out Off-Broadway performance, was transferred to Broadway in November 2011) was named the Best New Off-Broadway Production by the Outer Critics Circle in 2011. Sadoski, Ben Stiller, Edie Failco Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alison Pill, and Alison Pill were also seen on Broadway in John Guare's House of Blue Leaves.
